Designed By. X Culture Night
Against the vibrant backdrop of Culture Night, Belfast Design Week’s daughter event, Designed By. was launched with a preview of the fashion show on Cathedral Quarter’s Talbot Street, Belfast.
Primped and beautified by hair artist Kelly White and Make-up Director Joanne Gray, Joanna, Victoria, Izzy, Sophie and Vuitton from Maureen Martin Model Management stepped out into one of Summer’s final nights, each with individual hair and make-up style designed to catch the eye of the Culture Night crowd.
With different designers being shown on the urban catwalk every 20 minutes, the audience was introduced to some of Designed By.’s 2016 line-up.
Heading up the first strut was Marie-Claire Ferguson’s millinery collection and her accessories collaboration with Lucy Turner: Paperhat.
Recent Ulster University graduate Jeremy Huddleson’s noir-ballerina two-piece was the black swan of the second showing, penning him as one to watch for the November event. Attune Womenswear’s “fashion that works with you” gave the launch’s audience an indication of the wearability and functionality underpinning of Designed By.
Taking the road runway by storm twice was established couture designer RUEDI. With edgy shapes and bold colours perfectly matched to the city’s cultural vibe, those seated in the makeshift FROW couldn’t help but swoon as the showstoppers passed them by.
To see the latest collections from these designers, book yourself a seat for the official show taking place on Tuesday 8th November at The MAC, Belfast here.
