h-a-t-c-h is a website where little ideas can make a big difference to kids with special needs. Built by disability manufacturers, Leckey and Firefly, the site gives everybody a space to talk, discuss and create. It is open to ideas and inventions from anyone, anywhere who wants to help children with special needs.
h-a-t-c-h hackathons are life-changing workshops. They are creative meetings where people try to solve a problem together. Organisers describe a problem, then guests try to solve it with ideas and suggestions for new products or devices. What problem are we solving? One that is far too common for kids with disabilities: how do you use a toilet not designed for you? Disability toilets do exist but are usually for adults with some level of independence. That means ‘accessible’ toilets are often inaccessible for kids. Let’s see if we can solve this.
