Judith Gordon is a Designer/Maker and Lecturer with many years of experience teaching students at various levels and abilities. Judith has recently set up her own home studio and delivers workshops and works collaboratively with other businesses. Judith's creative work spans many mediums and she particularly loves working with wood. Judith is very keen to pass on skills and delivers various workshops including DAMKids. These, fun, hands on workshops, nurtures the Designer / Artist / Maker in your child. Children design, make, and learn creative problem-solving techniques; traditional hand and innovative skills. Through practice, they become more confident, capable and learn patience.
On Saturday 9th November, Judith will host a ‘Make Your Own Wood Pencil’ drop-in workshop. This is a special opportunity for children to engage in new skills and learn about the wonder of trees. They will be shown how to work safely with tools, learn about wood and be encouraged to think about where materials come from. Not only do the children take away a pencil that they make themselves but the experience will also spark confidence in their own creative abilities for the future.
Also on display will be a pencil that Fionn Mac Cumhaill used when he was a ‘wee’ giant. You might like to attempt to write your name with it!!
