2025 marks the 10th year of Belfast Design Week.
Back in 2015, we kicked it all off during the Year of Irish Design, so we thought it would be a fitting tribute to reconnect with Irish Design Week for a special event this year, bringing in existing collaborators and forging new connections, celebrating local design as well as looking outwards to the world.

We at Belfast Design Week alongside One Bite Design and Future Island-Island will showcase creative projects and stories from the islands of Rathlin, Ireland and Hong Kong.
Through the lenses of design, architecture and sustainability, we will share ideas on how islands could use design and creative thinking to innovate, collaborate and support people, place and our planet, and showcase projects from islands with populations of 150 people to those of 7.5 million people.
A “pop-up design museum” of work from the Islands of Design projects will be shared in the Cathedral Quarter in Belfast throughout Irish Design Week and alongside this, talks will share the stories of these islands of design.
